Travel Essentials

Packing for a trip can be so overwhelming and realistically, you never know what to bring. Guess what everyone, that’s why I’m here! I am going to list everything I think is necessary when packing abroad including links where most things can be found on Amazon! When packing for a trip, it is important to take things such as climate, activities, and culture into consideration. Be sure to look at weather patterns for your destination beforehand.

One of my first few days in Florence
  1. Converters/adapters

This is an absolute must when leaving the country if you want to charge your phone or any device you bring. Personally, I like the ones with multiple ports so you dont have to carry multiple adapters. This one from amazon is perfect and on sale.

  1. Travel Mirror

The worst thing about leaving your home is the comfort of some good lighting for hair and makeup. Bringing a normal mirror can be hard to fit in your luggage too. This rechargeable mirror from Amazon is small enough to fit in your carry on and bright enough to light up a room. Plus its pink!

  1. Memory Foam Neck Pillow

Alright, at first I absolutely refused to carry or wear a neck pillow but let’s face it. Planes are so uncomfortable and 8+ hour flights can not only cause a strain in your neck but impact your trip with jetlag. This specific neck pillow saved my life throughout my whole trip and I dont think I would have survived without it.

  1. Travel Shoe Bags

Walking the streets of Europe leaves your shoes very dirty, and no one wants to ruin their clothes on vacation. These bags protect both your clothes and shoes without taking up any extra room.

  1. Jewlery Organizer Case

Another struggle with traveling is making sure your jewlery stays organized and untangled. I stumbled apon this gem and it honestly saved my necklaces. Once again, small enough to fit in your carry on and stash in a safe space.

  1. Tide To-Go Stick

Laundry and stains are always a hassle, especially when there is no guarantee of a washer, and definetly not a dryer (Europeans don’t believe in them). Tide sticks are perfect to get stains out on the go.

  1. Portable Charger

This is an absolute must when travelling. Directions, pictures, and everything else that can be found on a phone are vital, and the worst feeling is when that device dies. You never want to miss a photo-op or get lost and a portable charger is a great safety net to have.

  1. Travel Fan

One thing about Europe, especially in the summer, is that it gets hot. Hotter than you can expect, and air conditioning is not a guarantee. Luckily, my roommate had a travel fan that she graciously shared with me throughout our trip, and honestly I wish I had one too. This fan from amazon is perfect to slip into even the tiniest of purses.
