Going on an airplane is probably one of the most time consuming aspects of traveling. You have to get to the airport hours before, sit on a long, cramped flight, and have some iffy food. There are a few ways to make your flight a little more tolerable, and I’m here to show you.
- Get that neck pillow!
I said it once and I will say it again, they are lifechangers. Especially for your long flights, a neck pillow is the perfect way to ensure you get some shut eye. These are some I found on amazon:
- Bring headphones and a good book!
There’s nothing worse than a flight with nothing to do, and some planes don’t offer personal TV’s. A good book to emerse yourself in is a perfect way to make time go by. Bring some headphones and download some music beforehand too.
- Bring a face mask!
Airplanes can mess up your skin and make it really dry so a fun thing I like to do is a little face mask. It hydrates your skin and makes the flight a little fun. Some face masks I’ve used:
TONYMOLY I’m Real Radiance Sheet Mask Set, 5 Count
Ceramidin™ Facial Barrier Mask – Dr. Jart+ | Sephora
- Stay hydrated
The same rules for your face go for the rest of your body. Flights make you dehydrated! I normally buy at least 2 big bottles before my flight so I always have it on hand.
- Wear comfortable clothes
If you’re on a long flight, being comfortable is key to not suffering. For example, jeans, tight clothing, anything like that is a no. Airplanes also get cold so make sure to bring layers. One time, on a short flight I decided to wear shorts. Biggest mistake ever. Sweatpants, T Shirt, and a sweatshirt is the ultimate flight power outfit.
- Take Advil PM
If you’re like me, sleeping on planes is so difficult. Even with a neck pillow, I still have trouble staying asleep. I like to take some Advil PM for multiple reasons. First, I normally get headaches and bodyaches from sitting in a cramped seat for so long and second, it knocks me out.
- Invest in an eye mask and earplugs
These two tools are essential to a decent sleep on an airplane. EDarplugs can also help when you take off and land if you have sensitive ears. These are some I found on Amazon:
